Taylor Sheridan is an American screenwriter, producer, film director, and actor. He is the creator and co-executive producer of the Paramount+ series, Tulsa King.

Biography[]

Career[]

Taylor began his career with acting, with small roles in Veronica Mars, Walker, Texas Ranger, and in 2008, in a prominent role in the FX series Sons of Anarchy. He gradually shifted into screenwriting at the age of 40, writing the film Sicario which starred Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin. It received multiple award nominations, including winning a WGA award for Taylor. He continued to win award nominations for the feature film Hell or High Water. He late wrote and directed Wind River in 2017.

Also in 2017, he created the television series Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner, which aired on the Paramount Network and is credited as the networks claim-to-fame and most popular series. In 2018, his overall deal with ViacomCBS was renewed.

During the 2020 pandemic, Taylor came up with the idea of a mob drama that would eventually be titled The Tulsa King. He pitched the idea to Sylvester Stallone who loved it, agreed to star in it, and they collectively pitched it to Paramount+ who acquired the rights. Taylor serves as the creator and co-executive producer for the series, but is not the showrunner due to his seven-show slate.
